Notification Server console fails to load with message: "ComponentOne VSFlexGrid8 - Not licensed. This is an evaluation version"

Issue/Introduction

The Notification Server administrator's console fails to load and the following message is returned:

ComponentOne VSFlexGrid8 (Unicode/Light)
Version: 8.0.20031.172
NOT LICENSED.  THIS IS AN EVALUATION VERSION
You can use this product for a 30-day trial period.

Cause

The ComponentOne FlexGrid 8.0 (UNICODE Light) ActiveX Control code base is http://<AltirisServer>/Altiris/NS/NSCap/Bin/Win32/X86/VSFlex8.cab. If this location becomes unavailable to the Notification Server administrator's console then this message will be received.

Note: The ActiveX Controls used by the Notification Server admin console and various solutions, and their codebases, can be viewed from the Internet Explorer browser by going to Tools > Internet Options > General tab > Settings (under Temporary Internet files) > View Objects. Once you have the currently installed ActiveX Control objects displayed, select any of them, right-click, select Properties, and the Codebase is displayed under the General tab.

Resolution

Two possible solutions for this issue are:

1. The ActiveX Control, ComponentOne FlexGrid 8.0 (UNICODE Light) could be corrupted, and the resolution would delete the object from the "View Objects" screen. The next time the Notification Server administrator's console is launched, the control will be reinstalled from the defined codebase location.
   NOTE: Internet Explorer 7 is currently supported. If you are using this, however, you can get to the ActiveX Control by going to Tools > Internet Options, click on the Programs tab, and click Manage add-ons.
2. If there is an IIS block placed on any of the codebase path (http://<AltirisServer>/Altiris/NS/NSCap/Bin/Win32/X86/VSFlex8.cab) then this error will be displayed.
