Invalid arguments error returned by the Altiris agent pull page

Issue/Introduction

Customer recently applied the KB27859 (R4) update and now on the download page of the Altiris Agent pull they are getting an invalid arguments error.

Seeing the following errors in the aeXSWDInstSvc.log

2007-03-23 08:47:11: Remote Installation Service build (6,0,0,6054), Notification Server build (6,0,6054)
2007-03-23 08:47:11: Argument 6 is invalid ' -nostartmenu -notrayicon -addremove -accUserName ALTIRIS\xyzadmin -accUserPassword Xyz12aW/bCdEFGhijk3L= -w ': The parameter is incorrect. (80070057) (ASWDInstSvc.cpp line: 3693)

Cause

Server configuration did not contain the FQDN extension where the Notification Server pulls those details.

Resolution

The primary DNS suffix needed to be added to the following location:

System Properties > Computer Name > Change > More > Primary DNS Suffix of this computer:

After the DNS suffix (example xyzcompany.com) for the network was added the system worked correctly
