Issue/Introduction

After installing Symantec Endpoint Encryption 11.3 on the following systems, the system may no longer boot (this issue did not happen with SEE 11.2):

Dell Latitude 5400
Dell Latitude 7400
Dell  Precision 5540

HP EliteBook x360 1040 G5

Resolution

When encountering this issue, decrypting the system is necessary to allow a system to boot up again.  Once decrypted, installing SEE 11.3 HF2 should allow the system to be encrypted again and machines should then boot successfully post authentication.

Specifically, the SEE 11.3 HF2 client resolves the issue with the Dell Latitude 7400 and Dell Precision 5540 systems and other similar UEFI systems.

SEE 11.3 HF2 has also shown positive results and appears to resolve the boot issues with the HP x360 1040 G5 and similar systems, although this issue is still being investigated by Symantec Enterprise Development.

An ALERT has been published to announce this release, which can now be obtained via the MySymantec Software Download Portal.
