Issue/Introduction

Proxy FTP Access Logs uploads are failing to complete after a failed connection to the FTP server.

 

Event Logs:

"Access Log FTP ([logname]): Error binding acceptor socket"  alog_ftp_client.cpp:1894

Packet Capture:

After receiving a "Response: 200 Type set to I." from the FTP server the Proxy returns "Request: QUIT"

Cause

Issue in the Proxy SGOS 6.7.4.1 through 6.7.4.9 is sometimes unable to obtain a TCP port to return to the FTP server.

Resolution

  • Enable Passive Mode
    • After logging into the Proxy Management Console browse to "Configuration> Access Logging> Logs> Upload Client"
    • Choose the log file that is experiencing the issue for the "Log:" dropdown and click the "Settings" button located right of the "Client type:"
    • Populate the "Use passive FTP" check box and click the "OK" button
    • Click the "Apply" button.
  • Upgrade to SGOS 6.7.4.10 or higher
