Cause

ASP.NET security is not impersonating correctly. Exact cause unknown.

Resolution

To resolve the issue, remove and reinstall the MIB browser component. This will set security properly on all points in IIS, upon reinstallation.

  1. On the SMP Server, open a command prompt.
  2. Type: cd "C:\Program Files\Altiris\Symantec Installation Manager\Installs\Altiris"
    NOTE: The C:\ drive letter may be different for your install
  3. Type: msiexec /x altiris_mibimporttask_8_5_ru1_x64.msi
    NOTE: The version of the file you use here should be the latest installed
  4. Press enter to initiate the uninstall and walk through the steps.
  5. When complete, type: msiexec /i altiris_mibimporttask_8_5_ru1_x64.msi SKIPAIM=1
  6. Press enter to initiate the install and walk through the steps.
  7. Upon completion the issue should be resolved.
