Issue/Introduction

Tagged subject lines may become garbled under one of the following conditions.

Condition 1

  • The original subject contains one or more multi byte characters
  • Data Protection policy "Tag Subject" action is applied

Condition 2

  • The original subject is encoded as ISO-2022-JP and "B" encoding.
  • Data Protection policy "Tag Subject" action is applied

 Condition 3

  • "Use SPF" is enabled in "Dashboard > Services > Email Services > Anti-Spam > Detection Settings > Spoofed Sender Detection"
  • The action of "Use SPF" is "Tag the subject line but allow mail through"
  • The tag string contains one or more multi byte characters

Condition 4

  • The tag string of "Subject line text" in "Email Impersonation Control Settings" contains both single byte and multi byte characters
  • "Tag Subject" action is applied
