Issue/Introduction

In Symantec Endpoint Security (SES) and Symantec Endpoint Security Complete (SESC), AutoUpgrade lets you automatically upgrade the Symantec Endpoint Security agent version.

Environment

  • Symantec Endpoint Security

Resolution

To enable Auto Upgrade in the Cloud Console:

  1. Login to ICDm
  2. Go to Policies tab
  3. Select and modify the System policy applied to agents you want to upgrade.
  4. Under the Product Upgrade Setting choose either Latest Release Channel or Previous Release channel.
  5. Save and apply the policy.

Additionally, upgrade scheduling and restart settings are also available under Product Upgrade Settings and Client Restart Settings

With Symantec Endpoint Security, there is no install package option like what exists in Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager (on-prem) to manually update a group to a specific version. The only option for auto-upgrade is in the System Policy in the console. This will enable to the client auto upgrade to the newer version based on the settings that you have chosen.
