Issue/Introduction

In Symantec Endpoint Security (SES) and Symantec Endpoint Security Complete (SESC), AutoUpgrade lets you automatically upgrade the Symantec Endpoint Security agent version.

Resolution

Disable or Enable Auto Upgrade

  1. Within the ICDm console, navigate to the Policies tab.
  2. Select and modify the System Policy applied to agents you want to upgrade.
  3. Under the Product Upgrade Settings choose to Enable or Disable Auto Upgrade.
  4. Click Show Advanced and choose either
    • Previous Channel
      • Downloads the client software from the release before the most current release. Use this option until you have tested the latest release; then download the latest release.
    • Latest Channel
      • Use this option to download the most current client software to your devices. It is recommended that you test the most current release.
  5. Save and apply the policy.

 

Configuring Upgrade Schedule & Restart Settings

After enabling auto upgrade, you can configure a schedule and the Restart Settings. See System Policy: Product Upgrade Settings and System Policy: Client Restart Settings (Windows Only) for more information.
