"WSS Traffic Redirection is malfunctioning." recorded on OS event log after AutoUpgrade

Issue/Introduction

Upgrading Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) 14.2 client using Auto Upgrade in a closed network environment results in "WSS traffic redirection malfunctioning" error on startup.

General: WSS Traffic Redirection is malfunctioning.

Cause

After AutoUpgrade, existing NTRDefs (WSS definitions) were deleted.

Resolution

This error can be resolved by restoring the WSS definition using one of the following procedures.

・Update the WSS definitions directly by using LiveUpdate via the Internet

・Repair installation with an unmanaged installer or exported installation package
　* Please use the same release installer for your client.

If you are not using WSS Traffic Redirection, this error has no operational problem and can be ignored.
