Issue/Introduction

Need to know behavior when an extra user tries to access Web security Services (WSS) and the licence seat limit has been reached.

Environment

Web Security Service

Resolution

The access to WSS is never denied regardless of how many extra users try to connect.

Nevertheless when an extra user tries to access WSS he will either:

• Kick out an inactive user and behave normally, depending on network usage.
• Policies for said user will begin to fail. At this point Symantec does not offer support. If this is the case an upgrade for more seats is recommended.
