What resources are needed for DLP NP for Email server and how much mail can DLP process per unit of time?

Resolution

Keep in mind that system requirements are the minimum resources for installing DLP 15.x and not for a production environment; it doesn’t account for server application and OS resources requirements.
The following note was extracted from the Symantec™ Data Loss Prevention Network Monitor and Prevent Performance Sizing Guidelines:

"Although memory configurations are listed, be aware that Network Prevent for Email performance is primarily CPU-bound, not memory-bound."

According to the same document, NP for Email can process 88 emails/sec in a VM container with 8-core VM and 8 message chains with a .26 sec latency.
