Issue/Introduction

After performing an OSRestore on the Symantec Endpoint Detection and Response (SEDR) or Symantec Advanced Threat Protection (ATP), if the Hardware Bypass NIC was in Bypass mode (hardware crossover function enabled), the NIC will not be able to be configured.

Cause

In SEDR version 4.1 and versions prior, including ATP, the OSrestore process would not reset the Hardware Bypass NIC.

Resolution

Starting with SEDR 4.2, the bypass mode of the Hardware Bypass NIC is reset to standard NIC mode during the OSrestore process.
