The File Reader service will not start after the Detection Server was upgraded from 15.1 MP1 to 15.1 MP2

Issue/Introduction

Data Loss Prevention Detection Server (DLP)

After upgrading six Detection Servers from 15.1 MP1 to 15.1 MP2, two of the servers will not start.
The FileReader service will not start.

In the SymantecDLPDetectionServer log:

Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/vontu/discover/logging/DiscoverLogHandler

 

Cause

The discover.jar and filereadercrawler.jar files were not laid down correctly by the migrator on the two trouble servers.

Resolution

Copy the discover.jar and filereadercrawler.jar files from a working Discover server and paste them into the nonworking Discover servers.
Restart the FileReader service.

The two .jar files are located in the path "C:\Program Files\Symantec\Data Loss Prevention\Detection Server\15.1\Protect\plugins" on the Detection server.
