Unused or Unwanted Packages Present on Package Server

Package servers have downloaded plug-ins for which I have no use. How do I prevent this?

By default, all plug-ins are downloaded to all Package servers.

However, there is a way to exclude the plug-ins that you don't want.


In this example, we will show how to remove the Inventory Pack for Servers Plug-in for AIX Package from all Package Servers.

Using the Symantec Management Console, go to Manage > Organizational Views and Groups > Default > All Resources > Package > Software Package. You will see the following:

In the right panel, double-click the plug-in that you want to remove. You will see the following:

Click on "Edit Package" (Red Arrow above) and then select the "Package Server" tab. You will see the following:

Click on the down arrow for "Assign package to" (Red arrow above) and choose "Package Servers individually".

Deselect the Package Server(s) (Highlighted in Yellow above) to which you do not want the plug-in installed and click "OK".
