503 Service Unavailable response when using Web Traffic Redirection on Mac clients

Issue/Introduction

End-users reported 503 Service Unavailable responses when browsing the Internet while using Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) for Mac and Web Traffic Redirection (WTR).

Environment

macOS 10.13.x and 10.14.x

Cause

The SymSepLps service was found to be repeatedly crashing in situations where it needed to restore network settings.

Resolution

Additional validation checking was added to the SymSepLps daemon. This issue is fixed in Symantec Endpoint Protection 14.2 RU1 MP1. For information on how to obtain the latest build of Symantec Endpoint Protection, see Download the latest version of Symantec software here.
