Endpoint Cloud Connect Defense

Issue/Introduction

During the installation of the Endpoint Cloud Connect Defense app (CCD) from the Microsoft store, users are not prompted to enter their email address during enrollment.

Cause

The Connect Defense app will bypass the user self-enrollment process if Endpoint Protection (SEP) 15 is detected on the device, and will enroll the app into the same domain as SEP 15.

Resolution

If SEP15 is currently installed, then no action is necessary.

In the case that SEP 15 has been removed from the device and you wish to enroll the CCD app into a separate domain, follow the steps below:

  1. Uninstall the CCD App
  2. Delete or rename the connect.dat file, which is located within the C:\ProgramData\Symantec folder.
  3. Reinstall the CCD App from the Windows Store.
