SV-3800 SV-2800 SSL Visibility Appliance Software SV-S550

Issue/Introduction

Administrator needs to get the serial number for a netmod.

Resolution

The serial number can be seen in the GUI under "Information" in the menu on the right labelled with the appliance's hostname.  Click advanced and see them listed under Netmod VPN Info.

It can also be seen in the diagnostics file within /sosreport/sos_commands_sslv_diags_platform/platform_versions.txt

For the SV-S550 models the chassis serial number is not in the platform_versions.txt.  It has been removed.  You can obtain the serial number by running the command "cat serial-number" within the main directory of the sosreport.

Netmod slot letters are assigned from top left to bottom right.

The SV-550 series uses PCI-E cards for interfaces.  The serial number cannot be seen within the /sosreport/sos_commands_sslv_diags_platform/platform_versions.txt.  The serial number will need to be obtained via the GUI under the Hostname - > Information -> Network Card Info.  If for some reason the GUI is not available the serial numbers for the PCI-E cards will need to be gathered by opening the chassis and physically reading the serial number off of the card.  Information on opening the chassis and gaining access to the PCI-E cards can be found at the following link:
