You are scanning endpoint machines and see that some scans show the status "timeout" instead of "completed" although all the content seems to be scanned.


If an agent goes offline during a scan, the discover server waits for them to report back as they are the part of a scan target. If they do not come back online until the defined timeout:

the scan will not be shown as "completed" but as "timeout". This happens due to the fact that not all targets have been scanned within the allocated time frame:


This behaviour is by design.
