Internet connections not being proxied as expected when Web Traffic Redirection is setup correctly.

Issue/Introduction

When Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) is making use of a Web Traffic Redirection (WTR) policy that is confirmed to be configured correctly, attempts to navigate to pod.threatpulse.com return with "You are Not Protected!".

Environment

SEP with an Integrations policy applied.

Cause

If the proxy.pac file obtained by WTR contains syntax discrepancies the SEP Local Proxy Service will fail to redirect traffic correctly.

Resolution

You can review the PAC file syntax through the WSS tenant where you obtain and edit your primary PAC files. For more information, refer to Verify a Proxy Auto Configuration file using Web Security Service PAC File Management.
