Issue/Introduction

After Deploy Anywhere (DA) provides the Critical and Non-Critical drivers the client reboots to production and on the first boot the client does not have all drivers installed from the drivers that had been added.

Environment

GSS 3.x
Deploy Anywhere

Cause

This is caused by some versions of Microsoft's DPInst file being used during the installation of non-critical drivers as it is not functioning correctly with some drivers.

Resolution

This issue was fixed in DS 8.5 RU2 and GSS 3.3 RU3.  This article is still available to document what was a known issue to using an old version of the DPInst file.

Instuctions to replace old versions of Microsoft's DPInst files:

  1. Download Microsoft's DPInst and extract.
  2. Replace files on the Ghost Solution Suite Server in these locations:
    1. <drive>:\Program Files (x86)\Altiris\eXpress\Deployment Server\Ghost\DPInst\Amd64
    2. <drive>:\Program Files (x86)\Altiris\eXpress\Deployment Server\Ghost\DPInst\x86
