Error: "the newer version of Symantec Installation Manager is already installed" when loading an installation package

Issue/Introduction

When loading an installation package created by the Symantec Installation Manager (SIM). The error "the newer version of Symantec Installation Manager is already installed. The installation will exit." is presented.

Error message displayed in a window prompt:

"The newer version of Symantec Installation Manager is already installed. The installation will exit."

Cause

The installation package was created from an older version of SIM than the currently installed version on the server.

Resolution

Create a new installation package from the same or later version of SIM.
