Issue/Introduction

In certain cases changing the download URL (by Vendor) for old Linux updates may not be detected by the incremental import of meta data, so updates may fail to download.

Sample bulletins:

  • RHBA-2018_2901
  • RHSA-2018_2846

Sample updates (with outdated URL):

  • https://cdn.redhat.com/content/dist/rhel/workstation/6/6Workstation/i386/os/Packages/kernel-firmware-2.6.32-754.6.3.el6.noarch.rpm
  • https://cdn.redhat.com/content/dist/rhel/workstation/6/6Workstation/i386/os/Packages/perf-2.6.32-754.6.3.el6.i686.rpm

Environment

Symantec Management Platform 8.x

Resolution

To update the URLs and fix these issues uncheck the Incremental Import check box and perform Red Hat meta data import as seen here:

NOTE: The Full Red Hat import does not need to run every time or very often. It is suggested that once per month or even on demand if there is an update with the issue is sufficient.
