Issue/Introduction

Question:

How can you find out the Server Type (Background, Standby, Application server), host name and other details?

Answer:

These steps apply to either the Advanced Availability or Conventional Configuration installations.

To find out the Server Type and corresponding host name in a CA SDM 12.9/ 14.1.X, perform the following steps:

  1. Login to Service Desk with Administrator rights.

  2. Click on the Administration tab.

  3. Expand the System menu and click on Servers.

In the Server List page, the available server and types will be listed. See this screenshot:

Alternatively, you may query the usp_servers and server_types tables to find this information.
