Symantec ICSP Neural 6.0.0 and 6.0.1 do not scan after a reboot

Issue/Introduction

If the recent Symantec ICSP Neural definition update has upgraded your Neural scanner engine to version Neural 5.0.0.xxx, and you have rebooted the scanner station afterwards, scanning of the USB mass storage devices fails. Symantec has released ICSP Neural 6.0.2 to resolve this issue.

Note: If you have not rebooted the scanner station after the recent definition update (which upgraded your Neural scanner engine to version Neural 5.0.0.xxx), scanning of the USB mass storage devices is successful. In this scenario, Symantec recommends you to upgrade to version 6.0.2 and then consider rebooting the scanner station to avoid any potential issue.

Resolution

Upgrade to ICSP Neural version 6.0.2. 

• If your scanner station is connected to the network, the ICSP Web Interface UI notifies you about the availability of version 6.0.2. Perform the online upgrade as follows:
  1. Click Update Now to install the patch.
  2. Reboot the system when prompted.  
• If your scanner station is not connected to the network, perform the following steps:
  1. Connect the scanner station the network.
  2. Perform the online upgrade to version 6.0.2.
  3. Reboot the system when prompted.
