Issue/Introduction

Uninstalling Symantec Endpoint Encryption (SEE) with Removable Media Encryption (RME) client causes BSOD on Windows 10.

BSOD with stop code: "Memory management what failed: eerfsfd.sys"

Environment

Windows 10 builds 1511, 1607, 1703.

SEE client 11.1.x

Cause

SEE RME includes a driver that Windows 10 is not properly allowing to unload properly and as a result caues a blue screen.  WIndows 10 builds 1511, 1607, 1703 are affected.

Resolution

Windows 10 1709 and above have solved this issue and should allow proper upgrade/uninstall of RME.
