Issue/Introduction

You want to store "Software Update Packages" on a network location and access them from your SMP (Symantec Management Platform) Server.

Software Management Solution 8.x

Resolution

In order to store and access "Software Package" location from your SMP server, please follow below steps:

  1. Go to Manage > Software Catalog> Click o Add Software > Import Package option.
        

2. Under import software window > "Package Source" section select source as “Access package from an existing UNC” and enter network location and verify.

3. If you get “The specified Patch does not exist” error while verifying the network location as below:

         

Then please perform below steps:

  1. Go to Settings > Notification Server > Notification Server Settings > Distribution Point Credential Tab.

  2. Check if “Use Agent Connectivity Credential” is selected or not. If it is selected then select “Use these credentials” and try with AppID and local user credentials.
