Error: "[DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (SECCreateCredentials()).]SSL Security error.; 08001." while processing IT Analytics Cubes

Issue/Introduction

The following error is returned when attempting to run reports or process cubes in IT Analytics: 

OLE DB error: OLE DB or ODBC error: [DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (SECCreateCredentials()).]SSL Security error.; 08001.

Environment

ITMS 8.x
ITA 8.0

 

Cause

The SQL Environment was updated to run TLS 1.2 and the SQL provider does not support the newer TLS 1.2 version.

 

Resolution

Changed the SQL provider to one that supports the TLS 1.2 version.
