Older DPInst provided through Deploy Anywhere fails to install some non-critical drivers

After Deploy Anywhere provides the Critical and Non-Critical drivers we reboot to production, and find that not all drivers are installed from the Driver Pack that was imported for a model of machine.


This is caused by an Older DPInst that is used during the installation of non-critical drivers, we found that the older version is struggling with some drivers, and the newest version of DPInst works with these drivers.


Instuctions to replace old DPInst files:

  1. Download attached and extract.
  2. Replace files on the Notification Server in these locations:
    1. <drive>:\Program Files\Altiris\Deployment\Imaging\ghost\x64\DPInst\Amd64
    2. <drive>:\Program Files\Altiris\Deployment\Imaging\ghost\x64\DPInst\X86
    3. <drive>:\Program Files\Altiris\Deployment\Imaging\ghost\x86\DPInst\Amd64
    4. <drive>:\Program Files\Altiris\Deployment\Imaging\ghost\x86\DPInst\X86
  3. Open Console
  4. Click on Settings > All Settings
  5. Click on Deployment > Imaging
  6. Click on Update Distribution Points
  7. Wait for package servers to update the ABD.... Imaging Package.
  8. Go to Settings > Deployment > Manage Preboot Configurations
  9. Click on PXE Environment and Click Recreate Preboot Environment
