Issue/Introduction

Windows feature update fails with exit code 0. Setup.exe runs for a while with setup files extracted and partially installed.

Attached screenshot shows what happens when the timeout terminates the update.

Environment

ITMS 8.x

Cause

Software Update timeout set to one hour, instead of the default four hours.

Resolution

On the SMP Server, check settings> All Settings> Software>Patch Management>Windows Settings>Windows Patch Remediation Settings>Programs tab.

Set the "Terminate after" to four hours.

Recreate the Software Update policy distributing the Windows 10 feature update.
