Error: "exit code 0" when Windows feature update fails

Issue/Introduction

Windows feature update fails with "exit code 0". The setup.exe runs for a while with setup files extracted and partially installed.

See the attached screenshot that shows what happens when the timeout terminates the update.

Environment

ITMS 8.x

Cause

Software Update timeout was set to one hour instead of the default of four hours.

Resolution

On the SMP Server, check settings> All Settings> Software>Patch Management>Windows Settings>Windows Patch Remediation Settings>Programs tab.

Set the "Terminate after" to four hours.

Recreate the Software Update policy distributing the Windows 10 feature update.
