"Policy limit reached..." in UI of ATP 3.2 or SEDR 4.0

Issue/Introduction

Within the user interface of Advanced Threat Protection (ATP) 3.2.0, or Symantec Endpoint Detection and Response (SEDR) 4.0, while adding a new whitelist or blacklist entry, a dialog box with a policy limit warning appears.

ATP 3.2 or SEDR 4.0 creates a new dialog box containing the warning "Policy limit reached :: Maximum policy count 
15000
:: Remaining record count: -31924"

Cause

ATP 3.2 and SEDR 4.0 contain a hardcoded limit of 15,000 whitelist or blacklist policies.

 

Resolution

Please upgrade to SEDR 4.1, where Symantec raises this limit from 15,000 whitelist or blacklist policies to 65,000 whitelist or blacklist policies.
