On computers using the Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) Web Traffic Redirection feature, web requests from non-interactive users, such as system or service accounts fail. The Web Security Service (WSS) returns a "Service Error" message instead of the requested content. The sam error is seen when making Web requests as a user logged into a local user account, or a Windows domain account other than the Windows domain covered by the AuthConnector used for the tenant.

This error can happen when a WSS tenant is configured with an AuthConnector, and a Web request is received by the WSS from a non-interactive user, or a user that is not part of the domain handled by the AuthConnector.
This problem is fixed in the latest version of WSS. Seamless Identification now authenticates users that are not included in the Active Directory information provided by the AuthConnector server for a specific tenant. This includes non-interactive users, such as service accounts or computer accounts, interactive users from other domains or workgroups.
