Importing nanosecond-resolution PCAP file into Security Analytics fails

Issue/Introduction

There is a nanosecond-resolution packet capture file (PCAP) which needs to be imported into Security Analytics, but the import is not successful.

"The selected file is invalid."

Cause

Security Analytics can only import nanosecond-resolution packet capture files when they are in PCAPNG format. It cannot import that resolution when the data is in a PCAP format file.

Resolution

Convert the file from PCAP to PCAPNG prior to importing the data into Security Analytics.
