Issue/Introduction

Users logged into the Ghost Solution Suite 3.3 Web Console are able to see jobs and computers that they are restricted from seeing.

No error message but users are able to see what they should not be seeing.

Cause

Currently the feature "Display only computers and jobs the user had rights to manage" is only applicable for the full Ghost console, it doesn't apply to the web console. 

Environment

Ghost Solution Suite 3.3 Web Console

Security has been set from Tools > Security dialog

Global options has the following option checked: 

  • Display only computers and jobs the user has rights to manage

 

Resolution

Although this feature is only applicable to the full console,  uses and groups that are hidden in the full console are still secured and users are unable to schedule jobs on the groups or use the jobs that they don't have permissions to view in the full console.
