Software Portal does not show any published software for any user after upgrade

After an upgrade of the Symantec Endpoint Manager and Solutions, no published software is available for any users.


During the upgrade the SQL updates did not apply.


To fix the issue, follow these steps:

  1. Log onto the Symantec Management Platform (SMP) server as the Application identity.
  2. Launch an administrative command prompt.
  3. Change directory to D:\Program Files\Altiris\Notification Server\Bin (drive letter may differ).
  4. Run the following command, but NOTE that the drive or path may be different based on install choices:
    AeXConfig.exe /configure "D:\Program Files\Altiris\SoftwareManagementSolution\Config\SoftwareManagementSolution.config"
  5. Also run the following command:
    AeXConfig.exe /configure "D:\Program Files\Altiris\SoftwareManagementSolution\Config\SoftwareManagementSolution_hotfix.config"
  6. Note that services will be restarted during this process.
