Issue/Introduction
Symantec Endpoint Detection and Response (SEDR) appliance model 8880 has a feature to enable or disable hotspare power supply function within the user interface (UI) of the Dell Remote Access Card (DRAC).
What are the best practices for enabling or disabling this feature.
Resolution
Symantec ships 8880 model appliances with the hotspare power supply feature set to 'Enable' by default.
Symantec recommends leaving the hotspare power supply enabled.
When electrical power testing is scheduled for a data center where the 8880 model is present, you may want to disable this feature if the test involves fast and repeated toggling of the upstream power from the upstream power source.
