After upgrading VIP ADFS plugin from version 9.7 to 9.8. release 4, authentications failing.
Authentication failed.

Upgrade VIP ADFS plugin 9.7 to 9.8 Release 4
In the ADFS Management console, in the Authentication method window “ VIP Authentication Provider” was not unchecked during uninstall of ADFS Plugin 9.7 version.
1. Open the AD FS Management console.
2. In the left navigation pane, click AD FS —> Service —> Authentication
Method. The Authentication Method Overview page is displayed.
3. In Primary Authentication, click Edit in the Global Settings option. The Edit
Global Authentication Policy page is displayed.
4. Click the Edit link on Multi-factor Authentication Method.
5. In the Edit Authentication Method window, clear the "VIP Authentication Provider " check box.
6. Click Apply to save the changes.
7. Go to Control Panel —> All Control Panel Items —> Programs and Features
—> Uninstall VIP Authentication Provider ADFS.
Reinstall the ADFS server plugin for VIP 2FA.
Complete the following steps to enable multi-factor authentication:
1. Go to Control Panel —> System Security —> Administrative Tools.
2. Open AD FS Management console.
3. In the left navigation pane, click AD FS —> Authentication Policies. The Authentication
Policies Overview page is displayed.
4. In the Primary Authentication section, click Edit in the Global Settings option. The Edit
Global Authentication Policy page is displayed.
5. In the primary authentication, select the authentication method your organization uses
currently. For example, Forms Authentication.
6. In the Multi-Factor Authentication section, click Edit in the Global Setting option. The
Edit Global Authentication Policy page with the Multi-factor tab is displayed.
Restart the ADFS server and test the login to ADFS / Relying party application for whom 2FA is enabled.
