Issue/Introduction

The purpose of this article is to provide an explanation to the situations in which there is latency with one or more sites, and in the policy trace we can see a big time difference between the server-out and server-in checkpoints.

Cause

The server-out checkpoint represents the HTTP requests being sent from the proxy and server-in represents the responses being sent from the Origin Content Server (OCS) to the proxy. If there is a big difference in time here, it means the proxy had to wait for a long time to receive a response, meaning there is something upstream between the proxy and the destination site that is delaying the response.

Resolution

Analyze other points of possible delay located in the upstream.
