How to factory reset Reporter S500 appliance without login?

Issue/Introduction

User sometimes would like to do factory reset Reporter S500 without login.

Environment

Reporter 10.2.1.7 or Earlier versions.

Resolution

Below is factory default procedure without login to the Reporter S500.
This procedure should be done via serial console port.

1 Power cycle Reporter.

2 When device starts to boot, hit the space bar to enter boot mode

The default boot system is:
 1: Version: Symantec Reporter 10.2.1.7, Release id: 219011

Press the space key to select an alternate system to boot.

Seconds remaining until the default system is booted: 54
System number (d for diagnostic menu):

3 Type "r" to restore to factory default and then select next boot image.

CAUTION: After restoring factory defaults, verify that RAID is not performing a re-sync before starting Reporter.
