GSS 3.x iPXE addon fails to install 50%

Issue/Introduction

Installing the iPXE addon for PXE server and the Installer starts but stops at 50% with the following error message:

Failed to install iPXE Addon for PXE Server

The Windows Event Viewer's Application Log showsd the following message:

Windows Installer installed the product Altiris PXE Server - iPXE add-on....Installation success or error status 1625

Environment

GSS 3.3

Install on Windows 2012 or 2016 Server.

Cause

Certificate might be expired for the iPXE installation package, and Windows Local Security Polity is preventing the installation.

Resolution

Open Administrative Tools:

• Open Local Security Settings
• Click Software Restriction Policies
• If no software restrictions are defined, right click the Software Restriction Policies node and select the New Software Restriction Policy
