Issue/Introduction

Changing the default session time out in Data Center Security (DCS) Unified Management Console (UMC)

Environment

DCS 6.0

Resolution

By default, UMC logs out the user after 30 minutes. Following steps can be performed to alter the session timeout value:

• Open "umc.properties" file from "C:\Program Files (x86)\Symantec\Data Center Security Server\Server\umc" folder.
• Change the value of "AccessTokenValidityInSeconds". By default, it is set to 1800 i.e. 30 minutes. Set it as required.
• Restart the following DataCenter Security (DCS) services: DCS Manager, UMC Telemetry and UMC Credential
