AD-RMS no working properly. There are 7 main places to check for RMS functionality
Resolution
- Verify you can reach the following pipeline URLs from an AD RMS client computer:
- Enterprise publishing: http(s)://<adrms_cluster_name>/_wmcs/licensing/license.asmx
- Enterprise certification: http(s)://<adrms_cluster_name>/_wmcs/certification/certification.asmx
- Make sure the email address of the client user is configured in Active Directory. Check using either:
- Active Directory Users and Computers Console
- Active Directory Administrative Center
- Make sure the SCP for AD RMS does not have the port specified within the Address specified for it
- Verify that when using SSL the certificate is trusted by the AD RMS client
- Check that the DRM cache is cleared of any failed installation or configuration changes:
- you can remove %localAppdata%\Microsoft\DRM directory contents and let them be reacquired by the client.
- Check that there are not multiple .GIC or .CLC files installed on the AD RMS client
- Check the directory %localAppdata%\Microsoft\DRM for multiples of these files
-
Verify that the IIS application pool is started
- Go into IIS and expand to the application pools. Make sure the ones running RMS and RW applications are started
