Issue/Introduction

You may have read an article reporting allegations that some boards manufactured by Supermicro at overflow subcontractors were subject to a supply chain attack. You want to know if these reports have any relevance to Symantec or Blue Coat hardware appliance products.

Resolution

• Symantec Enterprise and Network Protection on-premise hardware platforms currently under warranty or maintenance do not use Supermicro hardware components.
• The Symantec Web Security Service does not use Supermicro hardware components within the solution.
• Customers using virtual appliances should contact the vendor of the underlying hardware platform for more information
