Control Panel Applet missing from Control Panel

Issue/Introduction

While trying to troubleshoot an issue related to Ghost Solution Suite it is discovered that the Altiris Deployment Server (32-bit) Control Panel applet is missing from the Control Panel.

Environment

Ghost Solution Suite 3.x

Windows Server 2016

Cause

With the release of Server 2016 the Control Panel applet has been moved to accommodate this new operating system.

Resolution

There are two options available to open the Ghost Solution Suite configuration screen.  The first is to click on the Windows start button and drill down to the Altiris folder.  The Configuration application can be found here.

The second option is to open a file browser and go to C:\Windows\SysWOW64\axbectl.cpl.  This is the Control Panel applet file.  This file can be ran manually by double clicking on it.

With the release of Ghost Solution Suite 3.3 RU1 the Control Panel applet has been restored to the expected location.  If you'd like to applet back, please upgrade to RU1.
