Error: "Log Collector service configuration failed"

Issue/Introduction

When using the Log Collector for SEPM embedded database configuration utility to integrate with the ATP or SEDR software, you see an error that the configuration failed.

Error: "Log Collector service configuration failed. Please check the log file for more information."

Cause

UAC has been enabled or the user installing the software does not have the required privileges.

Resolution

If UAC is enabled, you will need to temporarily disable it. The software needs to be installed by a Domain or local administrator using Run as Administrator.
