Kdump Service hangs at startup in Endpoint Protection

Issue/Introduction

• After upgrading from Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) 12 to 14, the upgrade was successful. After a reboot, the Linux server hung on the Kdump service.
  NOTE: After disabling the Kdump service the server starts normally without issue.

Environment

• Upgrade from SEP 12 to 14
• Red Hat 6.10
• Kernel Version:  2.6.32-754.el6.x86_64

 

Resolution

Reinstall the Kdump service per Red Hat documentation.
