Endpoint Protection for Linux 14.2 RU1 clients are not updating definitions from LiveUpdate Administrator

Issue/Introduction

Since installing or upgrading Symantec Endpoint Protection for Linux (SEPFL) to 14.2 the clients are not updating their definitions from LiveUpdate Administrator

Lux.log shows the client looking for 14.0 or 14.2 content rather than 14.2 or 14.2 RU1 content respectively (depending on the applicable versions).

• localhost_access_log.txt on LUA shows the client looking for 14.0 or 14.2 content, rather than 14.2 or 14.2 RU1 content. For example, the log may look like the following, depending on the SEP version entailed in the case (the bottom line is that the log will show a disparity between what's installed and what definition updates it's looking for):

"GET /clu-prod/sepc%2420virus%2420definitions%2420linux%242014.2_microdefsb.curdefs_symalllanguages_livetri.zip HTTP/1.1" 404 1027

Environment

SEPFL 14.2 configured to obtain definitions from LiveUpdate Administrator

Cause

SEPFL 14.2 RU1 or SEP 14.2 looks for 14.0 or 14.2 livetri.zip, but it does not exist on LUA.

Resolution

This issue is fixed in Symantec Endpoint Protection 14.2 RU1. For information on how to obtain the latest build of Symantec Endpoint Protection, see Download the latest version of Symantec Endpoint Protection.

Additionally, as a workaround, add as content either 'Symantec Endpoint Protection 14.0' or 'Symantec Endpoint Protection 14.2' (depending on which version is installed and which version SEP is configured to pull updates for) for download and distribution in LUA.
