Issue/Introduction

Windows Data collection job fails because of the error:"Login failure:the user has not been granted request logon type at this computer"

Login failure:the user has not been granted request logon type at this computer

Environment

Cause

This issue appears when the querying user does not have necessary rights on the CCS Manager

Resolution

Give the necessary privileges for the said credential (The credential used for Windows Data Collection) on all the CCS Managers under User Rights Assignments (Local Security Policy)

1. Act as a part of the operating system
2. Log On As a Service
3. Log on as a batch job
4. Create a token object
5. Impersonate a client after authentication
6. Replace a process level token
7. Allow log on locally

Also, remove the credential from the following User Rights Assignment

1. Deny log on as a batch job
2. Deny log on as a service
