You upgrade or install the Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) client, and some or all of the clients show in the Symantec Endpoint Protection Management (SEPM) console as version


The setup initialization file may not have been read correctly or is missing information (ProductVersion):

/Library/Application Support/Symantec/Silo/MES/SMC/setup.ini


Apple macOS


The issue is cosmetic and does not otherwise affect client or SEPM functionality. A reboot of the affected client may resolve the issue. You may also replace setup.ini with a copy from a working macOS SEP client and restart the SymDaemon:

sudo launchctl unload /Library/LaunchDaemons/
sudo launchctl load /Library/LaunchDaemons/
