Policy-based Encryption E and Advanced Portal URLs will be changing to reflect the symantec.com domain name.

What is PBE?

Policy-Based Encryption (PBE) service encrypts your organization's outbound emails that match predefined conditions in your Data Protection policies.  The external recipients are sent an email pick-up notification with a URL so they can retrieve the encrypted message from a secure web portal. 

What is changing?

The email encryption pick-up portal URLs are going to change to reflect the symantec.com domain name.

• The EMEA URL will change from https://securemail6.messagelabs.com/ to https://eu.pbe.encryption.symantec.com/
• The NAM URL will change from https://securemail5.messagelabs.com/ to https://us.pbe.encryption.symantec.com/

When is this happening?

The change will happen in 2 phases:

• The EMEA URL change is planned  for August 6th – August 10th, 2018
• The NAM URL change is planned  for August 27th – August 31st, 2018
   

How will portal users be impacted?

The transition would be seamless, the old portal URLs would be available and online for 30 days from the time of the change. This ensures that a message link (valid for 30 days) will continue to work after August 10th and August 31st respectively.

How can the portal users avoid service disruption?

To prevent a complex set of policy rules from accidentally blocking access to essential websites, you can create a rule that specifically permits access to the following sites within your organization's proxy servers.

• https://us.pbe.encryption.symantec.com/
