Issue/Introduction

"Device is encountering intermittent connection failures" for ATP 3.1.0 scanners

  • On the property sheet for an individual ATP 3.1.0 scanner, hovering the mouse over the halo around the icon for the ATP scanner, the following message appears:
    "Device is encountering intermittent connection failures"

Cause

This is sometimes caused by a missing counter related to ATP receiving a 401 response from the Cynic server.

Environment

ATP is deployed as a management server with one or more ATP scanners

Resolution

Symantec repairs the missing counter in ATP 3.2.0.

Please update to ATP 3.2.0. If symptoms persist, contact support for original troubleshooting effort for this symptom.
